General Sunday School

PBC has a Sunday school class for all ages and interests. In addtion to our regular Adult, Youth and children's classes we often have special series classes on topics from improving your marriage to making your money last.

We invite you to come to our church this Sunday just a shade before 9:30 am and a greeter will be waiting for you at the entrance to our education building to answer questions and direct you to a class that you will enjoy.

Fellowship Class (Adult)

The Fellowship Class is an eclectic group of all adult ages, single, married, men and women. We are using the series Masterworks, which includes a study from two different authors each quarter.  These studies encourage discussion, exploration, and growth in our faith.  Our class is carried out much like a small group study, in that we have weekly study material to read and respond to. We then come together with a facilitator and discuss questions. Several facilitators lead the class on a rotating schedule.  We are now meeting in the Children's Worship Area to accommodate our growing attendance.  We would love to have you join us.

The Inquirers Class (Adult)

"The Inquirers", is a class of all adults, who desire "To Know"... more about Our Lord, His word and "How To" apply it to our lives, all for His Glory. The class includes in-depth studies from numerous sources, lively discussions and weekly material for daily growth. All are welcomed to join in at any time. Quarterly socials are an added part and a great time of food, fellowship and fun as class members share their faith with one another. Inquirers meet in the fellowship hall at 9:30am each Sunday. Please come join in and experience "His" love!

RUBIES (Women)

The newly formed RUBIES Sunday school class includes women of all ages. In the past year studies have ranged from topics on biblical parenting, marriage, finances, video studies, and individual books of the Bible. Members contribute baked goods monthly to the Mebopane Orphanage yard sale.  The class holds Christmas celebrations and many of the groups are involved in the new S.I.S. (Sisters – in – Service) women’s ministry.  The class is led by Amy Harmon and welcomes any visitors and new members.

Proverbs 3:15 "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her."

The Willing Workers (Women)

The Willing Workers Sunday school class membership is made up of mostly ladies. A large percentage of the ladies in this class happen to be the older ladies of Pittsboro Baptist Church.  The members in this class strive to live up to its name (willing workers) by working together as a group to study and learn the Bible in Sunday school.  At the present time the class is studying the “Explore the Bible” series by Lifeway church resources taught by Tony Biancardi and assistants Jack Gaster and Celeste Bryan. The first meeting of the new class was held on April 8, 1960 with seventeen members.  At the present time (2011) the class has an enrollment of 15 members.

Myrtle Brewer Class (Women)

The Myrtle Brewer Sunday school class is comprised of single, married, divorced, and widowed ladies of all ages.  They use the “Explore the Bible” literature.  Devotions, fellowship, on-going prayer concerns, active participation, and occasional outreach projects are vital components of this class.  Marilyn Tyndall and Rachel Brooks are co-teachers.  The class welcomes visitors and new members.

Griffen Johnson (Men)

Griffen Johnson bible class lead Charlie Brooks is a senior adult Mens class.

High School (Youth)
The High School youth meet for Sunday School in the youth room (also known as The Upper Room) on the top floor of the education building. The class includes a great group of high school youth and teacher Ken Haynes works to keep the topics relevant and the lesson style interesting and challenging.

Middle School (Youth)
The Middle School meet for Sunday School in their own room adjacent to the main youth room. The middle school years are some of the most challenging years for any youth and this is a great class for these young people to find fellowshp with other Christians and Bible teachings that are relevant to their life challenges.

Children & Nursery
PBC offers a wide variety of sunday school classes for all ages of children from our baby nursery to 5th grade. All children's classes are in the education building (enter the set of doors on the far right of the church front as you face the church) and you will find a greeter at this door each Sunday to direct newcomers to classes and to answer any questions.
